Top 30 Style Types (with pictures)!

I invite you to take a peek at the style types in this post.

Would love to know which styles are your favorites and match your personality the most?

In more recent history, there has been so much inspiration on style and clothing that we still wear today!

For instance, the Roaring 20s..

Ladies said adieu to corsets and hello to bobbed hair, and the flapper / Charleston dress. Followed by the 50s, with the pin up sexy style, where pencil skirts, swing dresses, cropped sweaters, hot pants, and bustier tops were the norm. Also, this era gave rise to some of the most influential style icons; Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly (will write more about that later!).

Then the 60s..

The hippie cultural movement that grew rapidly internationally. The themes of peace, love and rock and roll along with the famous Woodstock Festival. The hippie style consisted of peasant blouses, headbands, floral, ethnic like clothing. Following this, the 70s where we saw the disco craze. Remember Studio 54 and disco music :-). Apparel consisted of sequins dresses, bell bottom pants, flared suits, and faux fur!

Lastly, the 80s and 90s..

The styles consisted of alternative rock, preppy, gothic, punk, and hip hop began. Not to mention the era of the famous super models, the shoulder pads and the big hair!

Finally, we can wrap it up with the athleisure movement of comfortable clothing and streetwear which has become of popular culture.

Therefore, styles keep evolving – and so do we!

When I look back at some of my outfits I have to scratch my head and wonder – what was I thinking?!! But that is who I was back then and what the influence was. Today, however, I realize the woman I am and how I choose to express myself each day.

Most certainly, personal style is at an individual level and based on personal interests, likes and experiences. It matches your personality and who you are at any given moment in time. There is no right or wrong style type. Furthermore, there isn’t only one style type either as you can have several types and depending on the situation or occasion in your life.

In the end, it’s about your own view of yourself, what you like and how you want to express yourself and show up each day.

I must say, my favorites and the ones that match my personality the most are: Chic, Bohemian, Classic, Romantic, Glamour, Glam Rock, Biker and for sure Riviera/Marine when I travel to the South of France 😉

Would love to hear from you on your favorites and which match your personality the most. Leave a reply in the comments.
